Singled Out for Him…a time to serve Jesus Christ!

“To everything there is a season , and a time for every purpose under the heaven
– Ecclesiastes 3:1

“But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord…”
– 1 Corinthians 7:32-33

“…The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit…”
– 1 Corinthians 7:34

SENT – taken from Romans 10:15, And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

The Challenge

The season of singleness is not a time of limbo, waiting for the right partner to come along so you can get on with your life. These years of your life provide an incredible and unique opportunity to be devoted to Jesus Christ and His work in a way that married men and women simply do not have the freedom to pursue.

Are you in danger of becoming too self-absorbed? Many times when you are free from the constraints of family life, it is all too easy to become preoccupied with fulfilling your social needs or being consumed with your job or making money.

There is certainly nothing wrong with having friends or careers or even making a living, but God is concerned about the heart motives of His children. Rather than devoting their life to furthering the Kingdom of Christ, many Christian singles have been caught in the trap of seeking anything but God – like money, pleasure, power, alcohol, possessions and sex.

The Real Issue

What is it that truly satisfies you? Does your life have purpose? Why are you here anyway?

The Opportunity

There are so many singles that are struggling with life without anyone or any group to pick them up and encourage them with the hope that Jesus Christ offers us freely. If you are one of those singles, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Would you allow us the privilege of ministering to and fellowshipping with you?

As a group of people that simply love God and desire to follow Him we welcome you to join us at one of our events.

Our Ministry

The Singles ministry at FBCJ exists to help singles discover the answers to these and other life defining questions:

Who am I in Christ?
What does God have planned for me?
Who does God have for me?
Where do I go from here?

We accomplish this by:

  • Surrendering all that we are to the lordship of Jesus Christ realizing that in Him we have life, direction, purpose, and were created to be unique by Him. – Acts 17:27-28; 2 Corinthians 5:15; Philippians 3:8
  • Providing opportunities to serve God in the local church. By joining God where He is already at work you can discover what God has planned specifically for you. – John 12:26; Ephesians 4:11-12
  • Focusing on our individual walk and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ allowing Him to build us into men and women of godly character. This relationship in turn equips us for a healthy marriage. (If marriage is God’s plan for you). – 1 John 2:5; 1 Corinthians 7:32-34
  • Practicing biblical friendship by honoring, serving, protecting and loving one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. – John 13:35; 1 Peter 4:10; Philippians 2:2-3
  • Holding each other accountable in the areas of our personal walk and moral purity. – Galatians 6:1-2; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Thessalonians 5:11
  • Providing regular “iron sharpening iron” opportunities meeting together for Bible study, praying, and fellowship. – Proverbs 27:17; Philippians 2:4-5
