S.O.L.I.D. – Shining Our Light In Darkness

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” –  Matthew 5:16

S.O.L.I.D. Purpose

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou has created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” – Revelation 4:11

The purpose of S.O.L.I.D. Youth Ministry is to honor God with our lives by sharing our faith in Jesus Christ, by serving others, and by obeying God’s word to prove our commitment.

S.O.L.I.D. Weekly Meetings

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18

• Sundays: 9:00AM at FBCJ
• Wednesday Nights: 6:30PM at FBCJ in the Youth Room

S.O.L.I.D. In The Word

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” – Revelation 1:3

Read, reflect, and respond to God’s word. Read your Bible daily, reflect & pray, and respond by writing out the verse(s) in a notebook that stand out and why. A public time of sharing is part of each youth meeting, so come ready to share what the Lord is teaching you!

S.O.L.I.D. Discipleship

“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men,who shall be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2

We offer one on one discipleship at any time to any interested student who wants to grow deeper in their walk with Christ.

S.O.L.I.D. Missions

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

We have adopted FBCJ’s missionary Pastor Brian Brown, missionary in Monterrey, Mexico, as our own missionary. Pastor Brian Brown has preached at four of our recent summer youth camps.

Our Jerusalem: Personal Evangelism – students are trained and equipped to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ one on one and also regularly practice as a group.

Our Judea: High Schools – Students are challenged to carry their Bibles to school and be lights in a dark world.

Our Samaria: Serving at Vacation Bible School – Students spend approximately two months training and preparing to serve in FBCJ’s July VBS. S.O.L.I.D. students minister in these areas: skits, songs, crafts, games, and teach in classrooms.

The Uttermost: Foreign Trips – Students have been team members with their parents on FBCJ adult missionary trips to Hong Kong and Ireland.

S.O.L.I.D. Activities

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25

MONTHLY – Event Calendar for dates and details – typically there is one organized activity each month (i.e. Game night, Judgment House, Winter Retreat, Video Road Rally, Bowling, Super Bowl Party, Lazer Tag, Whirlyball)

SUMMER – Youth Camp is the highlight usually in mid June. We unplug from the world, wear out the flesh with activities (like paintball, jet skis, and extreme dodgeball), and immerse students in the word of God.
