JOYCE THRONESS

Joyce was born in Haiti, the second daughter of World Team Missionaries, Chester and Doris Throness.

After falling from a 2 story building at age 5 and knowing that God had spared her life, Joyce prayed that Jesus would come into her heart.  At that time, she knew she would serve God in full time ministry.  At the age of 17, Joyce recommitted her life to the Lord.

Joyce returned to Haiti for a short term of 1 ½ years to work as a secretary in the World Team Foster Care office.  She then attended Bible College and graduated in 1977 with a major in Missions and a minor in Music.

Returning to the mission field in Haiti in 1979, Joyce was formally accepted with World Team and was involved in Guest House ministry for 13 years.  She also worked in the World Team Canada office and lived in Pennsylvania for 4 years, working full time as a secretary in the World Team International office.  Her most recent assignment brought her back from a Guest House ministry in the Philippines.

Currently, Joyce is serving at the Center for Intercultural Training in Union Mills, NC, where she manages the kitchen and cafeteria, preparing and serving meals to missionaries in training.  Joyce often works 10 to 12 hour days and depends heavily on volunteer assistance.

Future plans include returning to the Philippines to work with Kasma Ministries, an organization which trains and encourages Filipino leaders.

World Team.

This missionary is a choice servant of God.  You and your church should be supporting her prayerfully and financially. Why miss out on an opportunity to expand your field and be part of the Lord’s work with this faithful saint?
