The First Baptist Church of Jackson was formed as an Independent Baptist Church on January 2, 2000. The first Sunday AM Service was on January 9th in the “Barn” located on the campus of the First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia.

Circa 2000

The church started out with 23 adults and 25 children. First Baptist Church of Jackson was officially founded and incorporated on March 14, 2000 and planted in Stark County, on March 22, 2000, by the FBCNP (also an Independent Baptist Church) with Rev. Thomas Gang as the founding pastor. The first Sunday AM Service in Jackson Township was on March 26, 2000 in Jackson High School. During the first service, the church had over 160 people in attendance. Today, the average weekly attendance is 500 with overall participation running 750+.

Through diligence, patience, and saving funds we purchased land in Jackson Township and constructed a building on November of 2006 with a west wing addition 6 years later. Although we borrowed funds to complete our original project, as of January 2019 we are debt free! Praise the Lord for his goodness to us in providing such a nice church home.
